For me, painting is not about repeating what we already see. It’s about discovering what lies beneath, what we think we know.
Each stroke I make carries decades of evolution, a kind of inner archaeology that reflects my passage through realism, cubism, expressionism—and ultimately, into the realm of the conceptual. I do not seek to describe a figure, but to evoke its essence. What remains unfinished is often more eloquent than what is fully resolved.
I work with structure, but not confinement; with color, but not distraction. I believe in drawing as the backbone of all great painting—but my lines are not cages. They are breaths, echoes, or sometimes silences.
My art speaks of the human being—noble, fragmented, defiant, divine. There are traces of the classical past, but they are veiled beneath contemporary textures. I don’t aim to please. I aim to leave something living on the canvas, something that keeps breathing beyond me.

Jorge Armando Gómez Orozco, known artistically as “Cocké,” has spent a lifetime refining a visual language that bridges the classical and the contemporary.
From an early age, his relentless curiosity led him to drawing and painting—disciplines that would become the foundation for a lifelong artistic journey. With formal training in fine arts, graphic design, and photography, Cocké immersed himself in artistic studies across Europe, delving deeply into art history while closely observing the works of the great masters in renowned museums.
His visual language is informed by the structure of the Renaissance, the sensibility of Impressionism, and the emotional force of Expressionism and Cubism. Yet what emerges on his canvas is not imitation, but synthesis: a unique voice that transcends period or style.
Cocké’s work is driven by a desire to evoke rather than describe. His compositions often combine figuration, abstraction, and symbolism, resulting in paintings that invite the viewer to discover multiple layers of meaning beyond the surface.
He currently lives and works in Andover, Massachusetts, where his artistic journey continues to evolve with a deep commitment to exploration and transformation.
